It's kind of odd, but I feel worse missing New Years with my family than I do about missing Christmas.
I'm sitting up in Nicole's house after everyone has gone to bed in order to write this. It's a little cold on her first floor, but I have a space heater. Kind of makes me feel like Grandma Iris; staying up till midnight and sitting in the bathroom with the space heater for warmth just to get ahold of me.
I spent New Years at Nicole's house in Himeji. She invited me for Mayhem Week. It has been entirely worth it to come. We've had quite a bit of fun; Jen, Bryan, Nicole and I. We played charades and pictionary till the clock rolled over. Once it was past midnight, Bryan (Nicole's boyfriend) went "swimming" in the mote of Himeji-jo (Himeji Castle). It was amazing.
But, however amazing it was, I'm still missing my friends and family back home.

Actually... I don't particularly like that song now that I consider the lyrics. hahaha! I've sung it for years and never actually considered it.
